Bucharest, 03.06.2026 – Zitec, a leader in IT solutions and digital transformation, has obtained B Corp certification, an international recognition of the company's commitment to ethics and transparency in business. Awarded following a rigorous evaluation process within the B Impact Assessment, the certification is granted to companies that meet rigorous standards regarding social and environmental impact, governance, transparency and responsibility toward stakeholders.

"B Corp certification confirms the values that guide us every day and helps us integrate sustainability more clearly into the company's strategy. We want this step to contribute to raising the standards of responsibility and ethics in Romania's IT industry."

Alex Lăpușan, Co-CEO and Co-founder of Zitec.

Currently, B Corp includes more than 10,700 companies from 104 countries and 162 industries. With a strong global footprint, the B Corp movement has gained ground in Europe, and interest in this type of certification continues to grow, with a significant increase among young people and consumers concerned about sustainability. Almost 58% of consumers say their purchasing choices are influenced by companies' responsibility commitments, and B Corp plays an important role in this selection process.

"We built Zitec on a foundation of responsibility and ethics in business. These are not a façade for certification; they are part of the way we make decisions every day, when we choose the projects, partnerships and clients we work with."

Simona Lăpușan, Co-CEO and Co-founder of Zitec.

Zitec leans into social responsibility and sustainability through impactful projects developed together with public, private and non-profit partners. Among its representative initiatives is Digital4All, a platform developed for the Authority for the Digitalization of Romania (ADR), which supports thousands of SMEs in the process of digital transformation and increasing sustainability through technology.

Moreover, through its collaboration of more than 10 years with SAMEDAY, Zitec has contributed to the development of the company's entire technological ecosystem, supporting a more efficient, cleaner and fairer delivery model. The solutions implemented help optimize courier routes, reducing the distances travelled, fuel consumption and, implicitly, carbon emissions. An essential role in this process is played by the expansion of the out-of-home network, through which customers gain rapid access to deliveries and returns nearby: a SAMEDAY easybox is, on average, just a 4 to 6 minute walk away.

In partnership with the Ministry of Environment, Zitec developed a solution based on artificial intelligence that automatically analyzes images to identify illegal transports of timber, reducing processing time from several minutes to a few seconds and supporting the protection of Romania's forests.

"B Corp certification gives us a clear framework through which we can constantly measure and improve the impact we have on our clients, colleagues, community and environment. Obtaining B Corp certification strengthens our position as a resilient organization, capable of adapting to uncertainty and using technology to amplify the impact of its own values."

Cristina Polischi, CFO of Zitec.

Zitec also supports projects in education, social inclusion, ethical journalism, the environment and civic engagement, through partnerships with organizations such as Ateliere Fără Frontiere, the Ethical Media Alliance and the Centura Verde București-Ilfov (Bucharest-Ilfov Green Belt) initiative developed by Alex Găvan.

Among the other Romanian companies already certified are organizations from diverse industries, such as Danone, French Revolution, Opella, Nespresso, Confident Communication, Promateris, OTOTO, IPANOMI, Pastel and Natural. B Corp certification is valid for a period of three years, after which the company will go through a recertification process to maintain its status.
